A friend told me about how she started making her own laundry detergent and I was immediately intrigued! Why would anyone do that? It seems to be such a complicated process, what with all the special qualities laundry soaps have nowadays...boosters...whiteners...brighteners!

Instructor Kristen Rovan Panek will lead parents and children in simple, fun yoga poses to promote focus, coordination, self-esteem and relaxation. Students will "play" yoga by imitating animals and nature, in a fun and caring environment. Kristen Panek is a certified Level I yoga instructor through the YogaFit program, and has been teaching yoga to children and families in Johnstown for four years.

This hands-on workshop will cover the use of composition, design and texture in making art on a flat surface. Traditional drawing and painting techniques, as well as more modern approaches and improvisational aspects, will be addressed. Everyone will work at their own skill level and speed and will have complete control over what they produce. Subject matter is unlimited (landscape/still life/abstract/etc.). One of the topics of the workshop is to show how to go from an idea to a finished work of art, dealing with all of the challenges the process brings. Bring photos and/or sketches of subject matter (land/city scenes, still life, and inspiration of any source).
