GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME!
THE COOKIE THAT COULD
It’s that time a year again! More than 35,000 Girl Scouts across western Pennsylvania kick off the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program on January 7, 2011.
WHAT CAN A COOKIE DO?
A Girl Scout Cookie can do a lot.
Last year, in a barely rebounding economy, the troop portion raised by girls in western Pennsylvania was $1,974,508. These proceeds funded service projects, purchased troop supplies, provided program opportunities and so much more.
When you buy Girl Scout Cookies, girls decide where the money goes—and they ...

How to Get your Kids to Eat Their Veggies!
Let them play with their food!
What you need:
A white paper plate.
Fresh carrots cut into stick of various sizes.
Broccoli divided into trees.

Simple!
What you do:
Show the kids how to make a carrot stick house, a lawn of peas and a broccoli tree.
Easy!
Then you say "I'm so hungry I could eat a house!" Everyone eats their houses making piggy noises.
Fun!
Can you Help?
A fellow publisher mom just recently got some devastating news about her 3.5 year old son. For the past 6 months, her son has not been eating, and has kept losing weight. He has been sick constantly with various ear infections, colds, etc. The pediatrician and his parents were trying to give him some time to see if it was just a phase, but now he is critically little (27 lbs). His pediatrician just diagnosed him with failure to thrive and has now sent the family to a team ...

Job Jar for Kids!
Boredom Busting Jar!
Ok, so my kids are only 4 & 5 and so I know there is a balance between what they are really capable of and what I sometimes wish they were capable of (example: being able to really help me shovel the snow covered driveway this week). For most of us, keeping the house clean is the hardest part of having little ones and I feel that it is good to teach personal responsibility at a young age.
At our house we started the "Job Jar" the kid punched the holes ...
