Parent & Child Classes
March to May 2013
Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. @ GJCTC
Spring into action with Parent & Child Classes!
These interactive classes are the perfect introduction to the early learning setting. Children ages 2, 3 and 4 may attend with a parent or caregiver. Classes are designed and taught by a certified teacher. To register, call (814) 262-0732 or 1-866-785-LAMP (5267).
Classes meet in Room F204 of the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center in Richland. Space is limited.
Stuck in the Mud
We’ll get our hands dirty as we make tasty mud pies, create magic mud, and decorate pigs with —
what else? — mud! Join us for these fun-on-the- farm activities based on a children’s book about
how animals stay cool by playing in the mud! March 1, 8, 15 and 22. Tuition is $44 for the month (4 sessions).
A Very Hungry Caterpillar
A Very Hungry Caterpillar
Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar will come to life as we look at the butterfly life cycle, and
use different shapes of pasta to retell the story. Come make rainbow butterflies and your very own
hungry caterpillars! April 5, 12, 19 and 26. Tuition is $44 for the month (4 sessions).
Imagination Gone Wild!
Meet a very imaginative dog in Ned Young’s Zoomer. Like Zoomer, you’ll pretend to be an astronaut
flying through space, or a one-eyed pirate sailing the ocean blue. Create dinosaurs with homemade
play dough and more! May 3, 10, 17 and 24. Tuition is $44 for the month (4 sessions).
Preschool Fun @The Learning Lamp is a nonprofit agency focused on providing children with the support they need to succeed in school. We offer preschool, child care, before and after school programs, tutoring, SAT prep and summer camps for preschool, elementary and middle school students. Need more info? Baby Signs® and Parent and Child Classes
Our exclusive Baby Signs® classes are the perfect way for you to learn to communicate with your little one before he or she learns to talk. Classes are offered in the fall and spring. Best for ages birth months to 2 years. Call Kristi at (814) 262-0732 for a schedule of classes.
Parent and Child classes are offered in the fall and spring, with each theme-based session lasting three or four classes.

Socialization Programs for 2’s
Is your little one ready for a slightly more independent learning environment? Check out the region’s only preschool program for 2-year-olds. It’s offered Mondays and Fridays from September
through May from 9 to 11 a.m. in Richland and Westmont. Tuition is $65 per month.

Preschool for 3’s, 4’s and Young 5’s
The Learning Lamp preschool program is dedicated to teaching children the skills they need to succeed in school. Our daily curriculum, Building Language for Literacy, is supplemented with Hands-On Math and KidWriting. Classes are taught by experienced, certified teachers. This sounds like an amazing opportunity. Although I think my little guy would love all of the classes, the class we are most interested in is Stuck in the Mud. He will make the age cut off by 1 day because he will turn 2 on February 28 and the class starts March 1. I think going with the first class would be our best bet, because if we win and we really like it then we could sign up for the other classes too. As usual, thank you for the opportunity Macaroni Kid and thank you Learning Lamp.
