Cuddles For Kids

Wow!  This proves how one person can make a difference!

So what is the 48 by March 28th Campaign?  Of course this is right up the Macaroni Kid Community's Alley!  Would you like to claim your state?  Here are the details from the Cuddles for Kids Facebook page!    Do you know someone in another state to help spread the word?

Julie, Conner asked me to send you the information for the 48 by March 28th event. I think we have about 10 states claimed. Here is the original Facebook post and background information on CFK.

Background information:


7 years ago after his Father had an emergency double bypass and received a stuffed bear from the hospital.  Then 9 year old Conner Hagins inquired if children received stuffed animals. When he was told no, he vowed to change that and change that he did!

Some 7 years and over 50,000 toys and later he is making a difference each year not just in our hometown but across the US and the world. Conner donated a total of 4,000 toys to the Today Show's Annual Toy Drive and has sent toys, coloring books and crayons to the littlest victims of the Haiti hurricane.  He has sent toys to orphanges in Mexico, Pittsburgh Children's Hospital, as well as many other agencies. The week before Christmas every year you can find him along with hundreds of toys and with the assistance of fellow classmates visiting each room of the local hospital and giving those patients a little "cuddle" at the most wonderful time of the year.

He has since established a Cuddles for Kids fund through the Community Foundation and has received  a total of over $7,000 in monetary donations to help with his program. In January Cuddles for Kids received a $3,000 grant from Lakemont Holiday Lights on the Lake to further his mission! He has been awarded with the Bronze Distinguished Finalist Medal from Prudential Spirit of Community Awards 3 times, Presidential Volunteer Service Award Certificate and has received commendations from former Senator Specter, former Governor Rendell, area representatives and Congressmen.

OKAY FACEBOOK FRIENDS...I am counting on YOU to SHARE THIS NEWS AND HELP US MAKE IT HAPPEN...we are on a mission to complete 48 states by March 28th EXCLUDING PA, because we already deliver there. We are looking for one person from each of the continental United States to give us a childrens charity in their hometown. ONE CHARITY FROM EACH STATE ONLY. First person from the state to post the name and address of the charity in THEIR state will receive a box of donations in time for Easter. so start sharing and start spreading the word!
