Consignors Wanted!

September 5, 2013
Consign for a cause!  Families can clean out their children’s closets and earn some extra money with the bi-annual Children’s Consignment Sale at The Learning Lamp, 2025 Bedford St., Johnstown, PA.  The fall sale runs Oct. 3-5, 2013. Proceeds benefit free educational programs for local children.
Consigners receive 50 percent of the sale price of every item sold.  The other 50 percent supports The Learning Lamp’s after school outreach programs for students in grades K-8 in Moxham, Prospect and Oakhurst. The programs offer homework help, a healthy snack, dinner twice weekly and a safe environment for kids.

“In addition to helping families make extra money and funding programs for kids, the Children’s Consignment Sale is environmentally friendly,” said Angela Rizzo, development director at The Learning Lamp.  “Families can reduce, reuse and recycle by passing along their outgrown children’s toys and clothes to parents who need them.”
This fall, volunteers and consigners can look forward to more benefits than ever before.  To start, they’ll receive a special invitation to a pre-sale on Oct. 2. That means consigners and volunteers get first dibs on the merchandise!  Additionally, consigners who volunteer in setting up the sale can take home an additional 10 percent of profits on their sold items.
Consigners must register by Sept. 23.  Sellers who register by Aug. 23 will have their $5 consignment waived. The consignor fee will also be waived for anyone who volunteers for three hours or more. To sign up, call Jessica Berleue at 814-266-0111. Visit thelearninglamp.org or ecokidsresale.org to learn more.
