It’s that time a year again! More than 35,000 Girl Scouts across western Pennsylvania kick off the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program on January 7, 2011.

WHAT CAN A COOKIE DO?

 A Girl Scout Cookie can do a lot.
Last year, in a barely rebounding economy, the troop portion raised by girls in western Pennsylvania was $1,974,508. These proceeds funded service projects, purchased troop supplies, provided program opportunities and so much more.
 
When you buy Girl Scout Cookies, girls decide where the money goes—and they have big hearts and big imaginations.
 
Girl Scout cookies can help bring out the confidence in a girl. It’s no easy thing to ask a stranger to buy something. You have to speak up, look them in they eye, believe in what you’re doing. Believe in yourself.With every season of Girl Scout Cookies, another generation of girls learns to set goals, make a plan and manage money. As women, they’ll need these skills, whether their goal is to start a business, or a family. Everybody likes cookies. And there are a lot of cookies that taste good.
