Spray it. Leave it. Let it Work.

If you have been a subscriber for a while, you know that Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Cream is a friend of Macaroni Kid. You know that they regularly sponsor our Baby Brunch and other events. Dr. Smith's sponsored the first Macaroni Kid Meet Up that I attended and gave us all full sized tubs of the Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Cream as well as portable packets. You probably also know that I'm a big fan of Dr. Smith's.

Now, I don't have anyone in my household in need of diaper rash cream for the usual reason, but that didn't stop me from trying it out the first time I was introduced for OTHER things!

I had slipped one of the portable packets in my makeup bag a while ago when on a trip to the beach, thank goodness. The very white skin on the tops of my feet got a little overdone by the sun and not having anything else, I smoothed on Dr. Smith's and got immediate relief! It has quickly become a staple in my travel bag.

I also raise alpacas and occasionally, they'll get a sore or skin irritation and I regularly apply Dr. Smith's Cream. It soothes the skin and the added zinc helps with healing.

During the winter, I suffer from very dry, chapped hands (I know, I should wear rubber gloves all the time!), and Dr. Smith's is a wonderful soothing remedy for that too.

The active ingredient in Dr. Smith's is Zinc oxide (10%). Ideal for baby's chapped and irritated bottom, zinc oxide is a great thing to use on wounds as it keeps the skin moist and clean and the zinc helps heal the skin faster. The primary ingredient in sunscreen, zinc oxide blocks UV rays. It also doesn't dissolve in water.

Why  keep something this versatile only in your diaper bag?

I was delighted to learn that Dr. Smith's had come out with a spray version and that I would be lucky enough to preview it! I LOVE it!  The lid is easy to open and close...there is no clumsy lid to deal with and the spray comes out in a fine even mist. I had to try it on the alpacas right away. I could hold the animal with one hand and apply the Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Spray with the other, even managing to open the lid with the same hand. It stayed where I sprayed it...no running and it definitely didn't cake. It also was easy to get right where I  wanted it. And best of all, there is no need to rub it in. I can only imagine how easy it would be to use on a squirming baby.

Formulated with Honeywell's Solstice* Propellant, Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Spray is non-flammable, Hydro-fluorocarbon free and as determined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, not a volatile organic compound (VOC).

Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Spray gets an enthusiastic thumbs up here! This spray version will replace the cream version in my travel bag and first aid kit for sure.
