Chips and salsa are a go-to at summer celebrations.
But this summer, surprise your guests with a unique taste on that classic party food: Watermelon salsa!
This sweet and spicy flavor combination is so delicious. Try a batch of this fruity salsa on a hot summer day and see for yourself.
The proportion of ingredients below is simply a guide. Feel free to experiment, adding more or less of any particular ingredient to fit your taste.

- 1 seedless watermelon, chopped into small chunks
- 1 red onion chopped
- 5 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped
- 1 cup chopped basil
- Lime juice to taste

Mix all ingredients together and serve immediately, with chips! Make your watermelon salsa even more of a standout by using the hollowed out watermelon as your "bowl."
Want an alternative to chips and salsa? Make tacos with watermelon salsa and either grilled fish or grilled chicken. A delicious light summer meal!
