Toy Time Review: Shark Mania by Spin Master Toys

Sponsored Article

By Julie Follansbee November 20, 2014
Sharks are hot lately. With Shark Week, "Sharknado" I and II and of course Jaws, it was only a matter of time before a great game about sharks came along for the kids.

We got to preview "Shark Mania", one of Spin Master Toys two new games this year. The other one is "Moustache Smash" where you try to find the match to your moustache in a fast paced smashing game!

But back to "Shark Mania". For ages 6 and up, and 2-4 players, the kids at our Preview party loved this game. Easy to set up (for parents and kids!), the goal is to race your pirate to Shipwreck Island grabbing gold along the way and avoid getting chomped by the sharks.

It's a really cute game. There is a shark fin attached to a chord that you pull out and activate at the start of the game by pressing on the treasure chest on the island.  As the shark fin creeps towards the dock, you can almost hear the da-da...da-da...da-dadadaaaaaaaa!

How did our guests score the game?

We used a 1-5 scoring system with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.

Shark Mania scored a 4.14 out of 5.

That gets the Macaroni Kid toy tester's stamp of approval!
