Here's how to make them:
- Take a banana and peel a strip down the center without removing or just slice down the middle with out going all the way through.
- Method I: peel back the banana strip. Method 2: Gently squeeze the ENDS together and the banana will bow to make a bowl. (I like Method 2!)
- Lay it on a piece of foil and top with chocolate chips and marshmallows.
- Close the banana peel and securely wrap in the foil, leaving the stem end exposed (makes a great handle).
- Cook directly in a blazing fire for about 10 minutes. Remove from the fire and enjoy
Variations:
Cook on the grill. Heat grill to medium high and cook about 5 minutes or until chocolate and marshmallows melt.
Bake in the oven. set at 400*. Wrap in foil and bake for 7-10 minutes. Carefully open foil and return to oven to brown the marshmallows.
Toppings: The sky's the limit here but here are some suggestions:
Peanut butter and honey (Elvis fans will like this!), Nuts-walnuts, peanuts, pecans, Crushed Orios, Teddy grahams or graham crackers, Peanut butter and jelly, Pretzels, Left over Halloween or Easter candy, Granola, Whipped cream, ice cream, and Fresh fruit-a la banana split.
