Paint the Snow

By Sarah Hauge, Publisher of Macaroni Kid, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Centennial, CO January 18, 2018

When my children were toddlers, our time spent outside during winter days was quite limited, despite their love for the snow. Their poor little fingers could never seem to stay warm, so we often resorted to bringing the outside elements indoors. Painting the snow became a regular activity in our home. This fun, simple, and colorful activity for toddlers is a winter must-try!

Supplies Needed:

  • Snow
  • Container (for snow)
  • Paintbrush
  • Cups (for "paints")
  • Water + Food Dye (or watercolor paints)

Instructions:

  1. Fill the container with snow.
  2. Mix up some watercolors by combining paint + water or food dye + water.
  3. Let your child's imagination do the rest!

And once the snow melts, you have your very own water table for extra fun!
